Gillui detects lung cancer early when it is still treatable. By detecting the odor of cancer in urine, Gillui can provide an accurate, no-radiation and non-invasive test  for lung cancer which can be done at home or in the clinic. Deaths from lung cancer are the highest of all cancers primarily because it is detected too late to be treated. Early diagnosis reduces death, suffering, and huge costs to both the patient and insurers. Our innovation is a proprietary device integrated with the best available odor sensors - trained rats. Our founding team consist of former Israeli Navy SEALs. We have over 30 years of experience integrating trained animals in navy missions and the system of a previous company we have founded, as well as experience in management of large public health care organizations. Gillui is now a few months from a clinical proof of concept.

Bio:

I was raised on a Kibbutz and served as a warrior in the diving unit of Shayetet 13. I later served for 15 years as a team member and team commander in a classified R&D unit that trained animals for various military operations. After completing my service I founded a company (BioExplorers) that successfully developed an explosives detection system which relied on mice and their sense of smell. The company was later sold and switched to detection of lung cancer in urine samples. 

I hold a M.Sc. degree in Zoology, and a B.Sc. in Biology from Tel Aviv University.
