ECO2nd is a software platform to prevent food waste. Our company will contribute to the circular economy and will drive organizations and individuals to eco-friendly actions as part of their daily operations. Thousands of tons of food products are wasted every year. Growing and producing the wasted food in Europe and in the US consumes 20 million acres of agriculture fields, accounting for 8% of global carbon emissions, pollutes soil, and consumes 25% of the freshwater globally. This is a waste of ~$350B per year. We are creating a market for food products which are close to end-of-life. Our solution identifies those products and exposes them to various players in the value chain who can still use or sell these products. 

Bio:

I am 48 years old and a father of three. I served as an operator in Shayetet 13. I hold a BA - Business and Economy, with honors. For over 15 years I managed our family owned farm. My recent role was a product manager in an Agri-tech company, during which I was exposed to the large challenges in coping with food security in climate sensitive areas. Potential customers and companies also shared their distress with the loss and food waste, which led me to start my own initiative to solve this problem.
